The Prime Minister of Norway Resigned After the Parliamentary Elections
OREANDA-NEWS. Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg has submitted to King Harald V a petition for the resignation of the current cabinet in connection with the victory of the Worker's Party in the September elections. Now the King will address the leader of the Worker's Party, Jonas Gahr Stere, with an assignment to form a new cabinet of ministers. This is reported on the website of the government of the country.
Parliamentary elections in Norway were held in mid-September, they were won by the Worker's Party, which advocates more active cooperation with Russia and gained 26.4% of the vote. The ruling Conservative Party won 20.5% of the vote. At the same time, the leader of the Norwegian Worker's Party, Jonas Gahr Stere, and the head of the Center Party, Slugsvoll Vedum, agreed to form a new government.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Norway will become the country that will contribute to the normalization of relations between Europe and NATO with Russia. According to him, Moscow and Oslo have the historical basis that can become the foundation for promoting bilateral relations in the future.
