The New York Times Reported about Navalny’s Plans to Return to Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. Opposition leader Aleksey Navalny told the German prosecutor that he plans to return to Russia as soon as he recovers. The New York Times reported this with reference to sources in the German security service.
“He’s fully aware of his condition, he’s fully aware of what happened and he’s fully aware of where he is,” the official said. “He’s not planning to go into exile in Germany. He wants to go home to Russia and he wants to continue his mission”, he added.
During a conversation with the German prosecutor, Navalny refused to cooperate with the Russian side, which offered Germany to conduct a joint investigation into the incident, a source told The New York Times.
On September 14, the Berlin clinic Charite, which treats the opposition politician, reported that Navalny was completely disconnected from the ventilator and he can already leave the hospital bed for a while.
