The Kremlin Revealed the Details of the Talks between Putin and Lukashenko
OREANDA-NEWS. The talks between the presidents of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, were mostly held in private and lasted about four hours. This was reported by Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian leader.
The meeting of the heads of state took place on Monday at the residence of the Russian President in Sochi. According to Peskov, first of all, Putin and Lukashenko discussed bilateral ties, trade and economic cooperation. In particular, the politicians agreed to increase trade between the countries and achieved a “constructive” result in the supply of energy resources.
The leaders of the Russian Federation and Belarus also raised the issue of cooperation in testing the Russian vaccine against coronavirus.
At the same time, speaking about the military cooperation of the two states, Peskov noted that Putin and Lukashenko did not discuss the deployment of Russian bases on the territory of Belarus.
Besides, the heads of Russia and Belarus agreed on the allocation by Moscow of a loan of 1.5 billion US dollars to Minsk, part of which will be used to refinance previously provided loans.
