The Kremlin Official Flew to Berlin to Negotiate on Donbass Despite of the Quarantine
OREANDA-NEWS. On May 13, the deputy head of the Russian presidential administration Dmitry Kozak arrived in Berlin to discuss the situation in eastern Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC news agency with a reference to a source familiar with the preparation of the meeting. According to him, Germany invited the Russian representative to better understand the position of Moscow in the negotiations to resolve the conflict in the Donbass. Journalists’ interlocutor stressed that there will be no representatives of other parties in the talks, just Germany and Russia.
“Kozak is Russia’s chief negotiator for Ukraine, probably there are issues that made him urgently fly to Berlin to talk with someone face to face despite quarantine restrictions and EU sanctions,” another RBC source commented on this.
However, there are no official reports about these negotiations. Almost all official visits are canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
