OREANDA-NEWS. Dmitry Peskov, the Spokesman for the Russian President, declared that Moscow strongly disagrees with the statements of the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky about the “guilt” of the USSR in the beginning of the Second World War.

“In this statement, the President of Ukraine identifies himself with an extremely erroneous, in our opinion, point of view of the Polish leadership,” Peskov said. According to him, this position is offensive to tens of millions of citizens of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, whose relatives gave their lives for the liberation of Europe from fascism. Peskov doubts that this point of view “coincides with the faith and beliefs of millions of Ukrainians, who also fought with fascists in arms.” This opinion is “erroneous and offensive,” the representative of the Kremlin concluded.
