OREANDA-NEWS. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, commented on the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, noting that Crimea is a sovereign territory of the Russian Federation, where Moscow is free to do everything to ensure its own security.

“In this case, we are talking about the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation, where the Russian Federation, within the framework of international law and within the framework of international obligations, is free to do whatever is necessary to ensure its own security,” Peskov said, answering the question of whether the President Vladimir Putin would take into account the resolution of the UN General Assembly on the problems of militarization of Crimea, city Sevastopol, the Black and Azov seas in further actions of Moscow in the region.

Peskov also added that in this case, the primary task and main priority is to ensure the security of the Russian Federation.
