OREANDA-NEWS. The Kremlin allows the postponement of a single voting day, scheduled for September 2020, to a later date if it is not possible to stabilize the situation connected with the spread of coronavirus. Three sources close to the presidential administration told about this to RBC news agency.

As possible scenarios, the transfer to December 2020 and to the next voting day, which will be held in September 2021, are considered. In September 2021, in addition to the regional elections, a federal campaign, elections to the State Duma, is also planned.

The final decision will depend on how the situation with the spread of coronavirus develops. If it does not stabilize by the end of spring, with a high degree of probability the elections will be postponed.
