The Court Ordered the Organizers of Unauthorized Rallies in Moscow to Pay the Authorities almost 2.4 Million Roubles
OREANDA-NEWS. The Cheryomushkinsky District Court of Moscow satisfied the lawsuit of the city prosecutor’s office on recovery of monetary compensation from the organizers of unauthorized rallies held in summer and ordered them to pay almost 2.4 million roubles (about 39 thousand US dollars) in favor of the state budget.
According to the prosecutors, during unauthorized meetings in Moscow on July 27 and August 3, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the City of Moscow (the third party in the process) suffered damage in connection with the involvement of additional employees to ensure security in the city.
According to the investigators, the organizers of the rallies are eight oppositionists and social activists: Alexey Navalny, Georgy Alburov, Ivan Zhdanov, Lyubov Sobol, Oleg Stepanov, Vladimir Milov, Alexander Solovyov and Ilya Yashin.
