The Chechen Parliament Approved the Agreement on the Border With Ingushetia
OREANDA-NEWS The Parliament of Ingushetia approved the agreement on the establishment of the border with Chechnya, signed by the heads of regions, adopting a law. This information was published by the press service of the head of Ingushetia.
On September 26, the heads of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov and Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov signed an agreement on defining the border between their regions, which provides for an equal exchange of territories.
"There were 25 deputies, 17 voted "for", three "against", one didn't take the ballot, four abstained", — the interlocutor of Agency told.
The question of determining the administrative border between Chechnya and Ingushetia arose in the early 1990s, when the two republics that were part of the chiassr were divided after the coming to power of Dzhokhar Dudayev. In 1993, the heads of Chechnya and Ingushetia, Dzhokhar Dudaev and Ruslan Aushev signed a Treaty under which the Sunzhensky district, with the exception of the settlements of Sernovodsk and Assinovskaya, moved to Ingushetia.
In September 2012, Kadyrov created a Commission to "clarify and harmonize the administrative border" between the two republics. In early September of this year, he signed a decree on the establishment of the Republican state Commission to clarify the administrative border of Chechnya and resolve disputes in its establishment.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the agreement between Ingushetia and Chechnya on the consolidation of borders, noting that these are subject decisions within the framework of Russian legislation.
According to the Russian Constitution, the boundaries between regions can be changed with their mutual consent, and such changes must be approved by the Federation Council.
Earlier on Thursday, the parliaments of Ingushetia and Chechnya approved an agreement between the regions on fixing the administrative border, the heads of the regions signed the relevant laws. On the Consent square in the center of Magas, according to the interior Ministry, this day gathered about 2 thousand people to express their attitude to the decision.
