The Biden Administration Said, That North Korea Ignores Attempts to Establish Contact
OREANDA-NEWS. Sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, member of the Politburo of the Worker's «Party of Korea» Kim Yo Jong advised the new White House administration not to try to spread the «smell of gunpowder» on the Korean Peninsula.
«We take this opportunity to warn the new US administration against the spread of the smell of gunpowder on our land. If [the US administration] wants to sleep soundly in the next four years, it should refrain from spreading the stench as a first step», Kim Yo Jong said, as quoted by «Reuters».
Thus, the sister of the North Korean leader reacted to the next military exercises of South Korea and the United States, which began on March 8. Kim Yo Jong also threatened to withdraw Pyongyang from the military agreement with Seoul signed in 2018, and to abolish the Committee for the Peaceful Unification of the Motherland, an organization for dialogue with South Korea.
The White House press secretary Jennifer Psaki said, that the administration of the new US President Joe Biden has not yet been able to establish contact with the North Korean authorities through diplomatic channels. Earlier, the administration of the new US President Joe Biden announced a review of American policy towards North Korea. Administration officials have also repeatedly stated that the goal of the United States remains the complete nuclear disarmament of the Asian country.
