OREANDA-NEWS The State Duma in the third reading adopted a draft law on reducing from three years to one year the minimum length of service of a foreign specialist who wants to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner.

Doctors, pharmacists, mathematicians, engineers, and specialists in other fields may become eligible for Russian citizenship.

“In the conditions of the need to develop the digital economy, their participation in our country becomes particularly relevant,” said State Duma Speaker V. Volodin.

The law will come into force after 90 years from the moment of its official publication.
