Sociologists Have Fixed Total Distrust of Russians to Politicians
OREANDA-NEWS Sociologists, who once predicted the protest wave of 2011-2012, recorded a total distrust of Russians towards politicians, both pro-government and opposition.
According to RBC, a study on the “Formation of a new public consensus and its internal contradictions” was conducted by a group of researchers led by former president of the Center for Strategic Research Mikhail Dmitriev.
As part of the study, focus groups were conducted in March-April 2019 in ten regions of the country.
The study showed that 86% of respondents do not see politicians who would tell the truth about the situation in the country. There is an explicit request for new leaders, but the Russians do not find such among current politicians. It is curious that the distrust of the opposition in many cases is higher than that of the authorities.
At the same time, discontent with the authorities has noticeably increased over the year.
"The current situation is perceived as unacceptable, there is a conscious and responsible understanding of the need for change along with the willingness to act," the study says.
