OREANDA-NEWS. According to the results of a survey conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center, the highest level of support for amendments to the Constitution proposed by the President is registered among supporters of the ruling political party United Russia. 83 % of them are going to vote in favour of the amendments.

Among those who vote for the social-democratic party Just Russia, 65 % plan to support the changes in the Constitution.

As for supporters of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (despite of the name, it is socially conservative, nationalist, economically interventionist movement), the percentage of advocates for amendments is 54 %.

The initiative is comparatively poorly approved by the supporters of the Communist Party of Russia. 43 % of respondents plan to vote aye, 39 % nay. On June 8, Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov announced that the party would not support amendments to the Constitution.
