Serbian President Refused to Recognize the Independence of Kosovo at the Talks in Washington
OREANDA-NEWS. During negotiations in Washington, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic rejected the proposal, which implies recognition of the independence of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo.
This was announced by Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic. “It is true that the document including paragraph 10 was on the negotiating table. I received information from Washington from a high-level delegation that President Vucic very rudely rejected paragraph 10, saying that this is unacceptable for Serbia and that he would behave in accordance with the Serbian Constitution,” Dacic said on the air of the television channel Pink.
The Minister noted that the document with such a text was not shown to the members of the Serbian delegation. According to him, initially, within the framework of the negotiations, it was planned to discuss the economic situation.
Earlier, the Serbian newspaper Vecernje Novosti wrote that Vucic would be in the United States from September 3 to 5. He will take part in negotiations on economic cooperation between Belgrade and Pristina.
