Serbia and Kosovo Resumed Negotiations after a Long Pause
OREANDA-NEWS. On July 16, a meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti was held in Brussels.
These are the first face-to-face talks between the leaders of the parties since the meeting of Vucic and then Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, in spring 2019 in Berlin. As for the negotiation process of Belgrade and Pristina under the auspices of the European Union, it was suspended in 2018; and Vucic announced a decision to resume this process only 20 months later, on July 12.
It is known that during the meeting on Thursday in Brussels, Vucic, Hoti, and representatives of the EU discussed the issues connected to missing persons and refugees, as well as economic relations. The next high-level meeting of the representatives of Serbia and Kosovo on the peace process will take place in Brussels in early September.
