Russian Prime Minister Instructed to Prepare a Bill on a Moratorium on Bankruptcy
OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Economic Development to prepare by April 1 a bill introducing a moratorium on filing bankruptcy petitions. His order was published on the cabinet’s official website.
In addition, the Ministry should expedite the approval and submission to the Russian government of a draft federal law introducing a procedure for restructuring the debts of entities. While the bills are not ready, the head of government recommended that authorities not initiate bankruptcies of companies that have debts to regional budgets and credit organizations.
Mishustin also ordered to finalize the second reading of the bill on amendments to the current law regarding the extrajudicial bankruptcy of individuals.
