OREANDA-NEWS. The videoconference of the Trilateral Contact Group for a settlement in eastern Ukraine was on the verge of collapse due to the position of the Ukrainian party. This was announced after the completion of the online meeting by the Russian plenipotentiary Boris Gryzlov.

“In violation of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, representatives of Kiev tried to refuse a direct dialogue with representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk,” the politician said. According to Gryzlov, the situation was “especially aggravated” due to the new composition of Ukrainian delegation, memders of which “showed open unwillingness to interact” with representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics. Recently, the Kiev side has been trying to “squeeze out” representatives of Donbass from working groups and the Contact Group, which poses a serious threat to a peaceful settlement, Gryzlov said. “A party that calls itself Servant of the People runs the risk of becoming a party of servants of the war,” he resumed.
