OREANDA-NEWS. Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, was diagnosed with COVID-19.

This was reported by the head of the government Mikhail Mishustin. “Unfortunately, Alexander Valentinovich Novak fell ill with the coronavirus. Let us wish him cure with all our hearts,” the Prime Minister said.

It is known that Novak is asymptomatic, he intends to take part in the monitoring videoconference of the OPEC+.

Earlier, Mishustin himself had been ill with coronavirus. The disease was also diagnosed in Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, Minister of Education and Science Valery Falkov, Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, head of the Ministry of Construction Industry, Housing and Utilities Sector Vladimir Yakushev and his deputy Dmitry Volkov. Besides, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, several governors and members of the both chambers of the national parliament were infected.
