Russian Foreign Ministry Returned to Ukraine a Note of Protest over the Parade in Crimea without Its Consideration
OREANDA-NEWS. Russia returned to Ukraine the note of protest sent by Kiev after the parade in the city of Sevastopol held in honour of the Navy Day, without consideration. This was announced on July 29 by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The mentioned note has officially arrived at our address; we, in accordance with the established practice, returned it to the Ukrainian side without consideration,” the agency reported. Diplomats clarified that Russia is a sovereign state, and it has a right to organize parades, celebrations and other events on its territory at its own discretion, without coordination with other countries' authorities.
On July 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent to the Russian Embassy in Kiev a note of protest in connection with the parade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, which took place in Sevastopol.
