Russian Foreign Minister Claimed Turkey’s Failure to Fulfill Its Obligations on Idlib
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that Turkey had not fulfilled two key obligations under agreements with Russia to resolve the situation in Syrian governorate of Idlib.
According to the diplomat, Ankara has not drawn a boundary between the armed opposition and terrorist organizations and is moving hundreds of militants to Libya. In addition, Lavrov claimed that Turkey is deploying troops in the Idlib zone.
“Unfortunately, at this stage, the Turkish side was not able to fulfill a couple of key obligations that were designed to solve the Idlib problem fundamentally… Russia cannot solve this problem alone, but it can seek unconditional, conscientious implementation… of the agreements that exist on Idlib,” Lavrov told journalists of Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
