Russian Federation Council Member Does Not Rule out the Closure of Borders due to the Worsening Situation with COVID-19
OREANDA-NEWS. The first deputy head of the Social Committee of the Federation Council of Russia, Valery Ryazansky, believes that due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the country, borders may again be closed and the number of flights may reduce.
“Of course, we can close the borders of Russia, we are moving towards this,” the politician told the news agency RIA Novosti, commenting on possible restrictive measures in connection with the increase in the number of infection cases. The senator noted that “the more people move, the greater the number of infections.” Ryazansky stressed that a number of countries are already taking serious measures; in particular, Israel has introduced quarantine.
According to the operational headquarters, as of October 5, the number of cases of coronavirus in Russia increased by 10,888 people per day.
