Russian Embassy Commented on Refusal of a Visa for German Journalist Seppelt
OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian Embassy in Germany announced the refusal of a Russian visa for a journalist of the German TV channel ARD, Hajo Seppelt, by a court decision.
“Seppelt was refused of a Russian entry visa by a court decision in connection with inclusion of his name in the list of individuals whose entry and stay on the territory of the Russian Federation is undesirable,” the press service of the Embassy explained. The diplomats noted that consular offices are not required to indicate the reasons for refusing to issue visas to foreign citizens. According to the representative of the press service, Seppelt is aware of the circumstances of including his name in the list of personae non grata.
On March 5, Seppelt announced on Twitter about the refusal of a visa. He did not specify why he was going to Russia.
After the 2014 Olimpics in Sochi, Ceppelt shoot a series of films about Russian state doping programme. He relied on the testimony of several people, including runner Yulia Stepanova and the head of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov.
