This was announced by the Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov. According to him, this assistance was discussed in a telephone conversation on March 30 between presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Peskov noted that the Russian leader offered Washington aid in the face of a difficult epidemiological situation. “Trump accepted this humanitarian assistance with gratitude,” Peskov added.

Offering help to the Americans, Putin proceeds from the assumption that, when manufacturers of medical equipment and materials in the United States increase production, they will be able to reciprocate Russia if necessary, the Kremlin spokesman said. “Now, when the current situation affects everyone without exception and has a global nature, there is no alternative to acting together in the spirit of partnership and mutual assistance,” Peskov resumed.
