OREANDA-NEWS Russia, in response to US sanctions, put 29 Americans on the «stop list», the Russian Foreign Ministry said. Among those sanctioned is one of the richest people in the world and the founder of Meta (a court in Russia recognized the organization as extremist and banned it) Mark Zuckerberg.
«He and others who are on the «stop list» are closed entry to Russia on an indefinite basis», the report says. In total, 29 Americans were sanctioned: senior executives, businessmen, experts and journalists, as well as the spouses of some White House officials. In particular, the list included US Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, White House Chief of Staff Ronald Klein, the spouses of US President for National Security George Sullivan and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, as well as US State Department spokesman Edward Price.
The list also includes: Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of America Brian Moynihan, Chief Executive officer of the LinkedIn social network (blocked in Russia since 2016) Ryan Roslansky, ABC TV anchor George Stephanopoulos, expert of the W. Wilson Center and editor-in-chief of the English-language version of Medusa (entered by the Russian Ministry of Justice in the register of foreign media) Kevin Rothrock, senior international analyst at CNN Bianna Vitalievna Golodryga.
The ministry added that the restrictions were introduced in response to «expanding anti-Russian sanctions». The Foreign Ministry said that an extension of the «stop list» will be published soon.
On the eve of the United States expanded the list of personal sanctions. The SDN list includes deputy chairmen of the Central Bank Head Ksenia Yudaeva and Mikhail Alekseev, adviser to the head of the Central Bank Alexey Simanovsky, as well as Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Kolychev. The management of Otkritie Bank was also banned from entering the United States (it was sanctioned at the end of February), including its head Mikhail Zadornov. In total, 29 people and 40 organizations were included in the list, including the cryptocurrency mining company BitRiver (this is the first such case, the country's authorities noted).
According to the US Treasury, these people and organizations may be involved in attempts to circumvent sanctions imposed by the US and its allies. They also added that the United States will impose visa restrictions on 635 Russians.
