Russia Addressed the EU with a Number of Questions on the Navalny Case
OREANDA-NEWS. The Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the European Union asked the European Parliament nine questions regarding the situation with the Russian opposition leader Aleksey Navalny. The appeal was published on the website of the diplomatic mission.
“Not claiming to be experts in toxicology, we still consider it necessary to draw your attention to multiple inconsistencies regarding this case,” the text reads.
Russian diplomats asked why German specialists avoid contacts with colleagues from Russia, as well as by what reasons the reluctance to provide documents on Navalny’s health condition can be explained.
In addition, the Permanent Mission asked the EU to substantiate the motive of the Russian authorities in the alleged poisoning of Navalny, pointing out that “his actual popularity level hardly reaches 2 %.”
The diplomatic mission stressed that it would be illogical to poison Navalny in a city with half a million population, and then save his life and facilitate his transportation to Germany, where the alleged poisonous substance can be found.
