OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with the leadership of the Federation Council and the State Duma on December 24, declared the insufficient level of diversification of production in the military-industrial complex.

According to the politician, the defense industry enterprises “are got hooked on defense orders.” He agreed with the opinion of Federation Council speaker Valentina Matvienko, who considers the rate of conversion in this area to be low. The head of state noted that he spoke about it many times, but the steps taken to improve the situation were not enough. “It’s true that it was not done enough. The defense order is still large, and we consider it as usual: the peasant does not cross himself so long as the thunder does not roar,” Putin concluded.
