OREANDA-NEWS. On January 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to Chinese leader Xi Jinping expressing sympathy with the spread of new disease caused by coronavirus.

“The head of the Russian state expressed confidence that thanks to decisive measures taken by the Chinese leadership, the spread of the epidemic will be stopped, and the damage from it will be minimized,” the text published on the Kremlin’s official website says. It is also noted that Putin “expressed his readiness to provide the Chinese people with the necessary assistance.” The politician emphasized that “the Russian competent authorities are focused on the closest cooperation with the relevant Chinese structures in order to overcome this common threat as soon as possible.”
