Putin Is Concerned about the Share of Unsolved Crimes in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed at a meeting of the board of the Prosecutor General’s Office that almost every second crime in the country remains unsolved. “There is something to think about for you and your colleagues from other law enforcement agencies,” the politician said.
According to the President, the number of crimes in the country has increased for the first time since 2016. He stated the need to pay special attention to criminal offenses against children and to illegal actions in the area of information technology, the number of which also grew.
Besides, Putin asked the Prosecutor’s Office to protect the social rights of Russian citizens more effectively. According to the head of state, recently proposed amendments to the Constitution “strengthen the social character” of the state, therefore the government’s responsibility for observing the social rights of Russians is increasing.
