OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin relieved Vladislav Surkov of the post of the assistant of the head of state. The decree on his resignation was published on the Kremlin website.
At the end of January, director of the Center for Political Conjuncture Aleksey Chesnakov, close to Surkov, announced that the latter decided to resign due to “a change of course in the Ukrainian direction.”
A source of RBC news agency, close to the Kremlin administration, reported that on January 24 Surkov wrote an application for resignation from the post, in which he oversaw the Ukrainian direction. Other RBC sources claimed that Dmitry Kozak, whom Putin appointed deputy head of his administration on January 24, will supervise the issues connected with Ukraine and the Eurasian Economic Union.
