Putin Commented on the High Salaries of State-owned Companies’ Top Managers
OREANDA-NEWS. President of Russia Vladimir Putin said an interview with TASS news agency that he dislikes exorbitantly high salaries of the heads of state-owned companies.
“It makes me shudder, I’ll tell you honestly,” the politician said. However, he noted that the situation is more complicated than it seems. According to Putin, he discussed this issue with the heads of companies, and they explained that they hire a large number of foreign specialists who work efficiently and “are worth something essential on the international labor market.” Therefore, the President said, state corporations “are forced to pay” them salaries, adequate to the market conditions. “If they are paid so, then they themselves, as bosses, should receive more,” Putin explained.
