OREANDA-NEWS. Several hundred citizens came on Friday morning to the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for a rally demanding the resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov.

As the TASS correspondent reported from the scene, the organizer of the protest is the initiative group named Down with Avakov.

Manifestants are holding broadsheets calling for the dismissal of the Minister: “No to the police state”, “2,295 days without security of Avakov’s police”, shouting the slogan: Avakov is a devil! Demonstrators conducted symbolic act setting fire to a car with the inscription “Police.”

The police increased the number of patrols in the central part of Kiev, as several protest actions took place there simultaneously. As expected, the rally for Avakov’s resignation will also be held at 14:00 local time near the government building.

Earlier, parliamentarians began collecting signatures for the resignation of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
