Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Discussed the Fight against COVID-19
OREANDA-NEWS. Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation during which they discussed the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and issues of bilateral cooperation.
This was reported on the Kremlin website on May 26. “The situation around the coronavirus pandemic and further steps to combat the spread of this infection were discussed. Actual issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction within the framework of integration structures in the Eurasian space were also touched upon,” the message reads.
Last time, coronavirus was the topic of negotiations between the two leaders on May 7. Then the presidents noted the importance of further coordination in this sphere. In addition, Putin and Tokayev congratulated each other on the upcoming 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War and emphasized the importance of this date for the peoples of the two countries.
The leaders later contacted on May 17, the birthday of the Kazakh President. Putin sent a telegram to Tokayev, in which he noted that he values comradely relations with his Kazakh counterpart, and later congratulated the politician by telephone.
