President Trump Is Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
OREANDA-NEWS. Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian parliament from the Progress Party, has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to resolve longstanding conflicts around the world.
“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” the deputy said in an interview with the television channel Fox News. In his letter to the Nobel Committee, Tybring-Gjedde expressed opinion that the Trump administration has played a key role in establishing relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. According to him, “as it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity.”
Earlier, Israel and the UAE, through the mediation of the United States, agreed on the complete normalization of relations. In a joint trilateral statement, it is said that Israel, under the terms of a deal with the UAE, will temporarily postpone a decision to extend its sovereignty to the West Bank of the river Jordan.
