President of Kyrgyzstan Did Not Take Part in the Victory Parade in Moscow because of Infected Members of the Delegation
OREANDA-NEWS. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov did not take part in the Victory Parade in Moscow, since it turned out that two members of the country’s delegation are infected with coronavirus.
Jeenbekov arrived in Moscow on June 23, he came to the Kremlin on the morning of June 24. “In accordance with a further algorithm, the President decided to refrain from participating in events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War,” a spokesman of the Kremlin said.
Members of the delegation and accompanying persons passed the coronavirus test upon arrival in Moscow according to the established procedure. It turned out to be positive with the head of the foreign policy department of the president’s apparatus Daniyar Sydykov and a security officer.
The Victory Parade began on Red Square at 10:00 local time; it lasted 1 hour 15 minutes. The event was attended by the leaders of Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Serbia, South Ossetia, Tajikistan, Abkhazia, and Uzbekistan.
