Poroshenko Proposed to Break the Treaty of Friendship with Russia
OREANDA-NEWS President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko introduced a bill to the Parliament on the termination of the Treaty of friendship and cooperation with Russia, said its representative in Parliament Irina Lutsenko.
"I think the Parliament will be able to support, "she added at a meeting of the conciliation Board, which was broadcast by the TV channel "112. Ukraine."
Speaker of Parliament Andrei Parubiy said that the bill can be considered on Thursday.
"If the relevant Committee considers it on Wednesday, we will be able to consider this bill on Thursday. That would depend on the Committee's decision. If on Wednesday there will be a Committee, on Thursday, I think, is Glad to agree that we included in the agenda and passed to consideration of this question", — Parubiy told at a briefing which broadcast Ukrainian "the Fifth channel".
The draft law was commented in the state Duma. Thus, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Committee Viktor Vodolatsky believes that the Council will support the initiative of the President.
According to him, the majority of Ukrainian deputies are controlled by advisers of the state Department, who are in the leadership of Ukraine.
"We are well aware that Poroshenko today does not rule the country, it is controlled by other forces, which, unfortunately, made Ukraine a mutant country, which today solves the issues of escalation," the Deputy told.
In his opinion, "the termination of the agreement will not affect the relations between the two States", but "may affect the relations of our families".
"Because we have, especially where martial law is imposed, everything is connected with family ties: one brother lives on one side, the other — on the other. This, of course, harms relations between peoples... all actions are associated with the action of martial law", — said the parliamentarian.
Senator from Crimea Sergey Tsekov believes that the decision to break the Treaty of friendship will have negative consequences for the Ukrainian economy, for the well-being of ordinary citizens.
"Ukraine will suffer first of all from the denunciation of the Treaty, as many points in the document are devoted to the observance of Ukrainian interests. But in the current conditions, Kiev politicians do not think about the state, but only about their own interests," Tsekov told.
