Poland’s National Security Strategy Defines Russia as a Main Threat
OREANDA-NEWS. The Polish authorities have adopted a new national security strategy for the country.
The head of the Polish National Security Bureau, Pawel Soloch said that external threats in the new strategy will remain unchanged. According to the document, the biggest threat to the republic is the “aggressive policy of Russia.”
Soloch also pointed out that the document announces the need to increase defense spending. “In the strategy, we emphasize that we should strive to spend 2.5 % of gross domestic product on defense. The pandemic does not change the vectors of politics of our eastern neighbor,” the head of the National Security Bureau explained.
At the same time, Soloch noted that a new challenge nowadays is the rivalry between the United States of America and China. “The countries of our region should have a common position in this area,” the politician said, commenting on this.
