Pashinyan Said Comprehensive Exchange of Prisoners of War with Azerbaijan Is a Priority for Armenia
OREANDA-NEWS. Armenia’s priority for the further implementation of the trilateral statement of November 9 is the comprehensive exchange of prisoners of war, hostages and other detainees, as well as the bodies of the dead. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on January 8.
The politician called the unblocking of the economic and transport infrastructure of the region as another priority. This means that Armenia should be able to carry out cargo transportation and have transport links through the territory of Azerbaijan to Russia and Iran. At the same time, Azerbaijan should receive the possibility of cargo transportation and other transport communication through the territory of Armenia to the city of Nakhichevan.

On November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the complete cessation of hostilities. The document provides for the stop of the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides in their positions, the transfer of a number of districts to Baku’s control and the deployment of Russian peacekeepers along the line of contact.
