OREANDA-NEWS. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that Russia will fulfil the obligations stipulated in the agreement between the two countries.

“I am confident that Russia will fulfil its treaty obligations if such cases [Of using a common air defense system. – Ed.] arise,” Pashinyan said during an interview with the German newspaper Bild. He noted that there is a military base of Russia with the complexes S-300 in Armenia, and the countries have a common air defense system. According to the agreement on the operation of the base, an external threat to Armenia will be perceived as an external threat to Russia.

Since the beginning of the armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, Pashinyan called Russian President Vladimir Putin three times. The Prime Minister of Armenia welcomed the statement of co-chairs of the Minsk Group of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on the need of a ceasefire and announced his readiness to negotiate on a truce.
