One of Republican Trump’s Rivals Refused to Run for US Presidency
OREANDA-NEWS. Former US House of Representatives member, the Republican Joe Walsh declined to participate in the US presidential race.
He stated this on the air of CNN. “I got into this because I thought it was really important that there was a Republican – a Republican – out there every day calling out this president for how unfit he is,” Walsh said. He called Trump “the greatest threat to this country right now,” adding that he would do everything possible to stop him. Walsh did not rule out the possibility of supporting the Democratic candidate. “Any Democrat would be better than Trump in the White House,” he explained.
On February 4, Trump won more than 97 % of the vote at the caucuses of Republicans in Iowa State. His closest rivals, Bill Weld and Joe Walsh, received a little more than 1 % each.
