OREANDA-NEWS. Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, demanded that the Russian Federation disclose to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons the entire data on production programme of Novichok agent, as well as allow an international investigation of the situation with allegedly poisoned opposition politician Aleksey Navalny.

NATO does not yet know what measures will be taken in connection with the situation with Navalny; they are currently being discussed. An unscheduled meeting of the ambassadors of the member countries of the alliance to discuss these issues should take place on September 4.

On September 2, the German government announced that the Bundeswehr specialists had detected the presence of the poisonous substance Novichok in Navalny’s body. Previously, Russian doctors, who treated the politician, claimed that they had found no traces of poisoning.
