OREANDA-NEWS. Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer informed the leadership of the ruling Christian Democratic Union about her decision to resign as party chairperson.

The decision of Krum-Karrenbauer leaves open the question of who will compete for the post of federal chancellor in the next election. The representative of Kramp-Karrenbauer said that she intends to organize the process of electing a candidate for the post of chancellor, continue to prepare the party for the future and then leave the leadership in the party.
