OREANDA-NEWS. The number of people with incomes below the subsistence minimum by 2024 should be halved.  This was announced by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting on the achievement of national development goals.

 “We are gradually solving this task. Last year, we raised the minimum wage twice, indexed public sector wages, which were not provided for by previous May decrees, pensions, social benefits,” the head of government recalled.

 The head of government also noted that a two-fold increase in unemployment benefits is a general measure that must be complemented by a targeted support system.

 It is also reported that since 2020 Rosstat will calculate the level of the state of citizens using the new information system.  It will allow to take into account the peculiarities of the situation of each person in need, including various welfare factors.
