OREANDA-NEWS. The delegation of the Federation Council, headed by the Federation Council chairman Valentina Matvienko, will make a working visit to the Swiss Confederation.

 In Bern, Valentina Matvienko will meet with Jean-Rene Fournier, the head of the Swiss upper house of the cantonal council, which is formed on a regional basis (two representatives from each canton, and one from a semi-canton).  It is planned that during the conversation the parties will discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation and issues of inter-parliamentary interaction.

 In addition, a multilateral meeting will be held at the headquarters of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva on June 30 with the participation of the chairmen of the IPU assemblies 2017-2019, as well as the leadership of the assembly.  Chaired by the head of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Gabriela Cuevas Barron, there will be a discussion on the development of parliamentarism.
