Lukashenko will Discuss the Oil Sector at a Meeting with Putin
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko may raise a number of issues related to the oil sector at the upcoming talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to «BelTA», this was stated by the leader of the republic, receiving Alexander Lyakhov, General Director of «Belorusneft», with a report.
«From well repair, you went into oil production. Tell us how things are going there. This is very important to me before the meeting with the President of Russia. Perhaps you will have some suggestions that will be interesting for Russia and Belarus. We will discuss it with him», Lukashenko said. According to the politician, the authorities are ready to support and consider the available proposals on oil production issues.
One of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition, a member of the presidium of the Coordinating Council, Maria Kolesnikova, was sentenced to 11 years in prison. On Monday, September 6, the Minsk Regional Court found her guilty of three articles of the Criminal Code of Belarus — conspiracy to seize power, creating an extremist formation and public calls for actions that threaten national security.
At the same time, the court sentenced another member of the presidium of the Belarusian opposition, Maxim Znak, to 10 years in prison, finding him guilty of creating an extremist formation and plotting to seize power.
