OREANDA-NEWS. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko reported on March 20 that after the closure of the state border because of COVID-19 spread, Russian retailers asked Belarus to supply food.

The politician noted that there is no food shortage in the republic, therefore, he urged citizens not to panic because of the epidemic. “We have enough products. The Russians closed the border, and their retailers turned to us: give us food, because we are in short supply. Of course, we are forming batches and delivering them, and the price is already completely different,” Lukashenko said.

According to him, there is no such “psychopathy” as in Western countries among the Belarusian citizens. The President expects that when the period of acute viral infections ends, the sickness rate of coronavirus will decline.
