OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin is firmly against the formation of a cult of his personality. This was stated by the Press Secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.

“The cult of personality of Vladimir Putin is something that Vladimir Putin categorically disagrees with,” the Kremlin spokesman said. According to Peskov, the President had clearly articulated his attitude to any manifestations of the personality cult long ago. In such a way the presidential spokesman answered the question of whether the Kremlin monitors the voting in regional legislative assemblies on the bill on amendments to the Constitution and whether they fear the emergence of Putin’s personality cult.

Earlier, State Duma deputies supported the amendment which allows Putin to run for president again in 2024.
