Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, reported that a decision of the current head of state to participate in the next presidential election in 2024 depends on the situation in the global economy, the effects of coronavirus spread and the development of regional conflicts.

“The situation in the world is well known, it is very, very anxious, not to say extremely turbulent,” the Kremlin spokesman said. According to him, it was precisely in difficult moments when some countries decided to allow the current leaders to remain in office, since at such time the stability and consistency of the authorities are the matters of “great importance”.

At the same time, Peskov recalled that Putin has not yet announced his intention to run for the next presidential election.
