OREANDA-NEWS. Leonid Kravchuk, a head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass, sent a written appeal to the Verkhovna Rada, in which he asked to check the parliament’s resolution on local elections for compliance with the Minsk Agreements.

This was reported on August 20 by the representative of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) in the political subgroup of the Contact Group, Rodion Miroshnik. “Kravchuk sent a corrected version of the letter to the Rada. After the relevant comments of the negotiators in the Office of the President of Ukraine, apparently, they thought better of it, and Kravchuk signed and sent to the OSCE Secretariat a more correct version of the letter, where he asks to check the compliance of the resolution on local elections with a set of measures to implement the Minsk Agreements. The copy of the letter was received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the LPR,” Miroshnik wrote in his Telegram channel.

The LPR representative stressed that initially, during the meeting of the Contact Group, Kravchuk read out the text of a letter in which he asked the Rada to consider the compliance of the resolution on local elections only with the law on the special status of Donbass, which, according to Miroshnik, looked like manipulation, “since the Rada’s resolution did not contradict the law, but the very complex of measures to implement the Minsk Agreements.”
