Kim Jong-un Apologized to Seoul for Killing South Korean Official
OREANDA-NEWS. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent a letter to the South Korean authorities, apologizing for the killing of a citizen of the republic in the territorial waters of North Korea. According to Seoul, the message says that Kim Jong-un deeply regrets in connection with the “dubious incident” that took place in the Yellow Sea.
The North Korean side claims that an unknown man crossed the sea border without permission and did not respond to signals from the coast guard. Then the military approached the vessel on which the man was and fired two warning shots. As reported in Pyongyang, in response, he tried to escape. Then the border guards fired him. After the military searched the ship, they found only traces of blood, and there was no body on board. They decided to burn the vessel in accordance with the rules to prevent infection with COVID-19.
On the morning of September 24, the Ministry of National Defense of South Korea reported that an employee of the fishing control under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the republic, who disappeared near the border of North Korea, was shot dead, and his body was cremated.
