Iran Promised to Shoot at American Ships in Case of Threat
OREANDA-NEWS. Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps claimed that the Iranian military will attack US ships if there is a security threat. At the same time, the Iranian Foreign Ministry protested in connection with US threats to shoot Iranian boats.
“We ordered our naval forces to strike at American warships and military units in the event that ships or combat units of the US terrorist naval forces would threaten the security of civilian or military vessels,” Salami said.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs protests because of threats from US troops deployed in the Persian Gulf. This was announced by official spokesman of the agency, Abbas Mousavi. The protest note was transferred to the American authorities through the Swiss Ambassador in Tehran.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump ordered to attack Iranian boats if they would pose a threat to American warships. Prior to this, Washington reported that 11 Iranian vessels came too close to US military ships in the Persian Gulf.
